SAPP still at war with DCM Raymond Tan - malaysiakini

Malaysiakini's report:

It looks like the war of words between ex-BN component Sabah Progressive Party (Sapp) and its former deputy chief Raymond Tan, who is one of the state’s three deputy chief ministers, has continued unabated since the party pulled out from the BN in September.

raymond tanTan and several others chose to split from the party and stayed within the BN, although they are now partyless.

He has been saying his decision to support the BN is for the people’s interest but this has been laughed at by his former party colleagues.

Today, Sapp information chief Chong Pit Fah called on Tan to be honest with himself.

“He is buying time to keep his post for as long as he can for reasons best known to himself,” Chong said when attending the monthly SAPP mobile service centre at the Lido shophouses in Kota Kinabalu.

Misleading the people?

According to SAPP loyalists, Tan and his agent, Jimmy Wong who is the political secretary to the chief minister, have been misleading people that their new party will be formed and accepted into Barisan Nasional by December at the latest or else he would have to resign his ministerial post.

Chong said: “Instead of worrying about his position, as a party-less state cabinet minister, Tan should use his final days in the cabinet to solve problems faced by the rakyat.”

He said these problems include the Sandakan coal power plant, the traffic mess caused by the Putatan rail project, the poor road conditions on all the major ring roads in the city caused by the sewerage project, the delay in the upgrading of Jalan Duta/ Bundusan and many more - malaysiakini.com
