Razak Baginda cancels press conference - malaysiakini

Hordes of reporters were left disappointed this morning when political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda's press conference was called off in the last minute.

This was supposed to be his first press conference following his acquittal by the Shah Alam High Court on Oct 31 of abetment in the murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu.

His daughter Rowena had informed the media on Monday that Abdul Razak would be meeting the media today in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

abdul razak baginda postponed pc event 061108 02Following this about 50 local and international journalists started gathering at the hotel since 8am for the press conference which was to start at 9.30am.

However with no action taking place, the journalists made inquiries to the management staff who informed them that the press conference has been called off.

Some journalists also contacted Abdul Razak's lawyer KK Wong, who confirmed that the press conference has been cancelled.

It is learnt a decision was made last night to cancel the press conference.

Abdul Razak has not been seen publicly after his acquittal from the case. Reporters have only caught glimpses of him entering and leaving his house in Bukit Damansara.

The two remaining accused Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri and Kpl Sirul Azhar Umar were ordered to enter their defence against the charge of murdering Altantuya. Their trial has been set for Nov 10 - malaysiakini.com
