Malaysiakini's report:
Urging speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia to do so, Karpal Singh (DAP-Bukit Gelugor) said Tajuddin should not be let off the hook simply because the latter had retracted his statement.
"Pasir Salak should be made to apologise or be referred to the House privileges committee," Karpal said at the conclusion of the question-and-answer session this morning.
Pandikar, however, ruled that there was no need for such action as both Tajuddin and Kulasegaran had retracted their statements.
"But both Pasir Salak (Tajuddin) and Ipoh Barat (Kulasegaran) have retracted their remarks so I consider the issue settled," he added.
In the incident yesterday, Tajuddin, who felt slighted at Kulasegaran's remark that "people in the Pasir Salak constituency hate him", had demanded that the latter produce evidence of his assertion or retract the statement.
When Kulasegaran failed to do either, Tajuddin pointed at the Ipoh Barat MP and called him "that bastard".
'You picked the wrong guy!'
This riled Tajuddin up even more, as he thundered, "You bloody bastard! You picked the wrong guy! You settle this with me! Outside!"
Wan Junaidi was eventually able to calm things down by getting both men to withdraw what they had said.
Also at the press conference was Kulasegaran himself, who decried Tajuddin's eagerness to take their disagreement "outside" the Dewan.
"How can a person with such violent tendencies be allowed to sit in the august House?" Nga asked - malaysiakini.com
